I'm from Quebec City, born on October 1st, 1978 and coming from passionate parents in music, sport & art. I grew up with colors and sounds, fun and fun! Bed stories were songs and in the morning my spoon was a musical instrument for breakfast. No wonder why I started to jump around like a monkey, which lead me into gymnastics at the age of 5 years old and music lesson with the piano for 5 years.

I practiced gymnastic for 12 years with passion and dedication to my sport. It brought me to compete at the Canadian Championships and many great experiences through out the years. I ended my gymnastic ''career'' at the age of 17 and decided to pursue high diving, at Rouge & Or from Laval University.

Coming from gymnastics did help a lot to get the skills in the air, but WOW! Letting your body land headfirst was not an easy task for an ex-gymnast. Many flats here and there... haha! But what a rich experience of awareness I developed there.

During my high diving training and part time job as a gymnastic coach, I was approach by Michel Rousseau, founder of the Quebec Circus School and Cirque EOS, to teach acrobatics to the Circus School. This is the day where my life changed. It felt like if a big curtain unfolded in front of my eyes into the world of CIRCUS. A new passion begun! I gave my acrobatic classes to the young kids and on my time off I would play around with flying trapeze, aerial cradle, hoop, silk, juggling, anything that was insight! After a year and a half of playful time as a young adult monkey ☺ I went to audition at Cirque du Soleil in Montreal. And it turned out I was the right profile at the right time for a position on Quidam for a trio aerial hoop act.

Life had a plan I didn't expected! Me? A Circus Acrobat?! I was studying in science and intent to work in research... Researching what? I didn't know... Biomechanics? Lab work? Who knows… But I always liked to question a question ☺ and to create.

Quidam was my entry to the world of Cirque du Soleil as an aerial hoop artist in January 1998. Lots of spinning & dizzy trainings, bruises and blisters! It took me at lease a full month of hard & intense work to get my body used to the spinning world. Then it kicked off! I loved every moment I could fly on the hoop. I performed on Quidam for a total of 5 years, but left after 3 years for free lance experience. I created my own solo hoop act and worked for Cirque EOS & Cirque Eloïze.

After 2 years I came back on Quidam to perform the solo aerial contortion in Silk. This was one of my strongest moment as a growing artist. While touring with the show, I started playing guitar, sing and write songs. It brought me to meet James Bevan & Sébastien Savard, two excellent musicians, where we created our band called ‘’QI’’. We played in venues & bars in the cities we toured with the show. And again… Me? A singer?! My mom was a singer, but I was shy to sing for so long… Well something had to sing out I guess! Haha! So after this flourishing experience with Quidam, I left the show for new adventure, without knowing where & what life had to offer me. But I knew I wanted to grow as an artist & create.

Cirque du Soleil came back with the offer for the creation of Corteo in 2004. I joined them as a Chandelier artist and as a singer this time. It was my first professional singing experience and slowly I understood how much work I had to learn. Working with in-ears was a huge adaptation. It was scary at first but I worked my way to built confidence. After 4 years of dedicated & passionate work on Corteo, Alison Crawford, my artistic director, proposed me to create a new act for Corteo. She knew I had this dream & will to merge singing with aerial for yearssssssss. I couldn’t believe it!  The birth of my Vocal Aerial Silk act came true. I worked hard for few months at the Studio of Cirque du Soleil in Montreal with the help of Debra Brown, a talented & gifted choreographer. This creation was like a diamond for me, a place full of love & accomplishment at the same time. I performed on Corteo for 7 years in total. And then came the time to have a totally new adventure.

I went to India for a Yoga Teacher Training! I was there for 6 weeks and immerged myself into the Traditional Ashtanga Yoga of Patanjali. Living every day to the fullest and gasp as much knowledge I could from my guru Dr Senthil Kumar. This chapter of my life opened up a new awareness and made me realized how much more I could learn. I’ve continued a formation in Yin Yoga with Bernie Clark and I intent to go take an Aerial Yoga formation with Michelle Dortignac at some point this year.

Then came the time for a new creation, this time with Amaluna, a production of Cirque du Soleil in 2011 and where I’m present today. I play the Moon Goddess character and I perform my solo Vocal Aerial hoop act. Yes the hoop! I went back to my first & old aerial companion, my love hate relationship… bruises, scratches & blisters were back for a while… but I couldn’t have a better challenge by singing with my aerial hoop. In Amaluna, I hope to touch you, move you & surprise you.

To be continued… ☺
